This rock climber who faced off against a bear while climbing Mount Futago in Japan just hit legendary status in my book! It was overriding panic which is produced in the fear center of the brain (along with kicks, punches and a lot of noise) that got him out of that situation in one piece. He likely was in the bear’s territory, and she was defending her cubs.
